electric cowboy suits|
|Venue||Galerij Hoet-Bekaert, Gent
|Extra info||A Semtex show!
Frankly, if you ask me, this years An Albatross living room show in Gent was the best show Ive been to in 2005. It had all the ingredients that make underground shows so appealing: the friendly atmosphere, the diy factor, the kids going wild, the fingerpoints, the singalongs, the attributes in the pit, the living room being molestated... fuck yeah, it made me realize why I love all this so much! The best thing however, was the insane madness that played that night: An Albatross. They had their revolutionary dance shoes on, and played their songs as if it was their last time ever...
Now guess what, kids!
An Albatross is coming back!!
Again at an unusual location, being an art gallery. Oh boy!
When: Thursday February 9th 2006
The show starts at 20h.
Bands: An Albatross (us), Spleen (b)
Location: Gallery Hoet-Bekaert, Rodelijvekensstraat 28, 9000 Gent

From the streets of Philly hails the one and only An Albatross... known for their grindpunk meets progrock supersound (think Locust meets XBXRX meets Melt Banana) and absolutely ape-shit live show, An Albatross is truly one of the best bands making music right now, and easily one of the hardest working, as their latest 75 show nationwide self booked US tour, managed to pack and sell out venues from NYC to San Diego... be sure not to lump them in w/ other bands you may think to compare An Albatross to, for you will see, in the upcoming releases, they are taking their sound to a whole new level... prepare thyselves!
Spleen (mp3 | website)
Theyre from Belgium and theyre rude, fast, slow and hard all together. Theyre a freaky live-act as their singer, Matthieu Ronsse, always tries to break some shit. This is a must see live act! Think of a mix between Tool, Slayer, Machine Head and The Locust. Freaky aint it?
Matthieu Ronsse is also opening an exhibition of his artworks that night. Youve got to see it, its great stuff.
